ATTIVITÀ EDITORIALE

Children’s Books Ireland is the national Recommended Irish Reads 100 great books for readers aged 0–18 charity and arts organisation that champions Rogha Leabhar 100 leabhar iontach Éireannach do léitheoirí 0–18 bliain d’aois every child’s right to develop a love of reading. Our mission at Children’s Books Ireland is to inspire a love of reading in children and young people on the island of Ireland, and to champion equitable access for all to excellent books. We share our expertise and enthusiasm with the adults who guide and influence young readers, and encourage schools and early childhood settings to build a positive culture of reading and reading aloud. We support and promote authors and illustrators and connect them with their audiences through our work. Our projects include an annual conference for professionals working with children’s books; a magazine three times a year and an annual recommended reading guide; the annual KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards, which honour the best in Irish writing and illustration for children and young people; and a number of book-gifting schemes, which ensure that every child has an equitable opportunity to become a reader. Children’s Books Ireland administers the Laureate na nÓg project on behalf of the Arts Council of Ireland, and is proud to take part in the biennial International Laureates Summit at Bologna. Children’s Books Ireland is core funded by the Arts Council.
