We are a small, independent, family-run company, founded in 1980, to create illustrated information books for young children, aged 3 to 11. The success of our books lies in their ability to captivate children’s imagination and hold their attention through the quality of the artwork and design, and the clarity of the text. Our books nurture children’s innate curiosity about the world around them and explain how things work and how plants, animals and people interact with their environment in everyday life. Importantly, they encourage children to discover the world from their own unique perspective. These qualities also make our books an effective language learning tool for non-native speakers of English. Discovery has always been the theme behind our publishing and most of our series are named accordingly. Our most successful series – First Discovery, My First Discoveries and Torchlights – have sold over 40 million copies in 30 languages . We will be launching a new paperback edition of this series accompanied by an audio app in Autumn 2022 and are actively seeking distribution partnerships for this series in English Language learning markets around the world.
