Futa Fata is an Irish phrase meaning ‘a buzz of excitement’, which is what we seek to create in the book world. 2025 marks 20 years of Futa Fata publishing, during which we have drawn on a two thousand-year tradition of Gaelic storytelling, to bring children engaging and innovative books. Based on Ireland’s storied Wild Atlantic Way, our picturebooks are licensed for publication in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. Our work has been recognised with multiple White Raven selections, inclusions on the international iBbY Honour List, as well as a number of KMPG Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year Awards in Ireland. Futa Fata is also active in inward translation, being the Irish-language home of Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man, Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid, David Walliams and Julia Donaldson.
