A part of its ongoing commitment to promoting publishing excellence, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair is now focusing on the world of research by establishing a permanent award dedicated to the best dissertations in children’s literature.
The prize, currently awarded for postgraduate works in Italian University only, pays tribute to the literary critic Carla Poesio, her fundamental contribution to the world of children’s literature and her unique role in the birth and development of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
The winner of the sixth edition (2024) is Matteo Lazzari with the thesis "L’Israel dei bambini": storia di un periodico per bambini nell’Italia del dopoguerra (1949-1952) e la collaborazione al giornalino di Emanuele Luzzati (University Milano-Bicocca).
The winning theses of the previous editions were published by Edizioni ETS.
