The BCBF/BBPlus Invitation Programme – created with the collaboration and support of ITA and MAECI – enables a number of international publishers, carefully selected for their publishing output, to participate in the fair as guests in the yearly Invitation Programme.
The aim of the Programme is to enrich the fair's offer with quality publishers from all over the world and involve them in an agenda of B2B appointments with Italian publishers to foster the international exchange of rights. Starting this year, the matchmaking program will be managed through a dedicated digital platform, making the organization of meetings even simpler and more efficient. The matchmaking program is organized in cooperation with the Italian Publishers Association (AIE).
The World Lounge at BCBF 2025 will welcome 40 publishers from 32 countries who are also involved in the fair's programme of talks and seminars to offer a valuable contribution to the international debate on children's books from multiple perspectives.
After the three-year experience of Spotlight on Africa, the space in which the Bologna Children’s Book Fair promoted the participation of 100 African publishers at the fair, the BCBF’s commitment in supporting African publishers continues. In fact, this year, 7 publishers from the African continent have been selected to be part of the World Lounge.
