Karen Green

Karen Green is Curator for Comics and Cartoons at Columbia University. Since 2005 she has been instrumental in building a collection and archive that now includes the original art and papers of Chris Claremont, Al Jaffee, Howard Cruse, Jerry Robinson, S. Clay Wilson, Wendy and Richard Pini, Fly, and Kitchen Sink Press, among others. Karen is highly active and visible at comics conferences and conventions, has been a judge for the Eisner Awards and the Pulitzer Prize in Editorial Cartooning, and co-produced the documentary She Makes Comics (2014). She has also organized and hosted numerous online and in-person conversations with comics artists. In 2017, Nick Sousanis created the online comic A Life in Comics: The Graphic Adventures of Karen Green for Columbia Magazine

Raffaelli

Luca Raffaelli

For nearly fifty years he has worked in the world of comics and animated films as an author, writer and artistic director. He worked in various magazines L'urlo, Métal Hurlant, Comic Art, L'eternauta, and has been in the Guinness Book of World Records for the Nuvolette column published for more than 30 years in the weekly magazine Lanciostory. As contributor to Repubblica, he has edited comic book series since 2002, writing more than 800 introductions. Vice artistic director of Lucca in 1986, he was artistic director of many festivals as Cartoombria, Castelli Animati, Romics, La città incantata, Sardinia Film Festival. He has written many essays such as Le anime disegnate (1994, published until now in many editions) and Che cos’è un fumetto (Carocci, 2022, with Valerio Bindi). He has written the novel Lo spazio dentro and several screenplays for animated films and comics, including Ciao mamma, vado in Giappone (2022) and Ciao mamma, vado dai fantasmi published by Tunuè in 2025. In 2024 Oscar Grillo created the comic strip L'ospite from one of his short stories. In 1994 Mina sang Ninna pa one of his songs.

Tanja Skale

Tanja Skale is the editor of Stripburger, the internationally acclaimed comics magazine based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. For over 30 years, Stripburger has served as a vibrant platform for alternative comic artists from around the globe, championing comic art both locally and internationally. Beyond curating the magazine, anthologies, and comic books, she organizes comics exhibitions, workshops, discussions, and other comics-related events. She also represents Stripburger at various international comics festivals and book fairs. Additionally, she is a co-founder and the artistic director of the Tinta International Comics Festival in Ljubljana.
