New in 2025: Belt and Road Initiative

For the first time, CCBF introduces a special area dedicated to publishers from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner countries—an international project that fosters cooperation, cultural exchange, and connections across Asia, Africa, Europe, and beyond.
This lounge aims to give visibility to emerging publishing houses often underrepresented in international book fairs. In cases where physical presence is not possible, selected titles will still be displayed on-site.
A brand-new showcase designed to expand the global children’s content network and foster dialogue between emerging markets and industry professionals.


The Italian Pavilion Returns to CCBF!

The Italian collective participation, organized by Bologna Children’s Book Fair with the support of ICE – Italian Trade Agency and MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation), finally returns to Shanghai!
This initiative highlights the richness and quality of Italian children’s publishing and creates meaningful opportunities for networking and collaboration with local buyers and professionals.

The chosen titles will also be featured in an official bilingual catalogue and promoted across CCBF’s social media channels, reaching a wide and international audience. The initiative includes a series of on-site activities—such as presentations, readings, book signings, and influencer engagement—to further highlight the selected books, their publishers, and their authors.

Spotlight on New Books also serves as a gateway to the global market, thanks to its connection with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

The exhibition will also travel to Bologna from 13 to 16 April 2026, as part of the next edition of the fair


 

CCBF - Facts and Figures

The 11th China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) ended on November 17th 2024.

The influence of CCBF, both domestically and internationally, has steadily increased, making it the leading fair entirely dedicated to books and specific contents for children in Asia Pacific.

In 2024, the CCBF were held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre, spanning an expansive 25,000 square meters, with 497 exhibitors from 32 countries and regions, and 41,263 visitors, including 17,081 professionals, attending over the three-day event.
