Little Island Books is Ireland’s only dedicated English-language publisher for young readers. Founded in 2010 by the first Laureate na nÓg (Irish Children’s Literature Laureate), author Siobhán Parkinson, Little Island Books has gone on to publish four of the seven laureates. Little Island distributes throughout Ireland, the UK and the USA. Little Island Books are the first and only Irish publisher to have a book on the shortlists of the Carnegie Medal, British Book Awards, Waterstones Prize, and Kirkus Prize, Little Island’s books have won many prizes including KMPG Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year, Irish Book Awards and Literacy Association of Ireland Awards. Little Island Books was Highly Commended at the 2024 British Book Awards and choses as the Youth Libraries Group (UK) Publisher of the Year in 2023.
