Klett Kinderbuch Verlag was founded in Leipzig in 2008 as a small offshoot of the large Stuttgart-based Klett Group. Since 2015, it has been an independent publishing house. Every six months, we create seven to ten new titles for children aged 2 to 12 and their adults. What Matters to Us Everyday Adventures: We aim to offer preschool and elementary school children authentic stories in which they can recognize their own lives. These stories can be unconventional and politically incorrect at times—because that's how children's lives often are, and we embrace that. Curiosity for Knowledge: We have nothing against children learning from our books—but if they do, it should be through fun and the golden path of great storytelling. Books with Bite: We want to create books that spark discussion and even controversy. Books that leave a lasting impression on everyday life and provide opportunities for meaningful conversations. Let's Read! Our books are lively, engaging, and truthful—never dull or dumb. They make reading something that happens naturally and joyfully.
