PUBLISHING ACTIVITY

Scudéry is an independent Parisien publishing house, based in the Marais, the central district of Paris. We have been creating picture books for children since 2020 with 2 collections : hardcover albums (Les Petits Orthos) and small softcover books (Lecture Suivie). For teachers and their pupils, we offer activity books that are not printed but are free and can be downloaded from our website without registration. We publish classic stories illustrated by great twentieth century artists that are in the public domain. These stories are published in the Lecture Suivie collection (Continue Reading collection). We have restored these illustrations and we want to offer a quality edition that is accessible to the general public and the mass market. It worked because we reprinted these titles. Our latest collection is called Les Petits Orthos (Speech therapy for children). It’s a cute little album, and the first book in sign language to be published in France. With this collection, we want to stimulate curiosity and help children learn to read. With our publishing house, we create books for learning but also books for the pleasure of reading and the joy of being together (parents and children). We work with public institutions, libraries, booksellers, schools and cultural centers, organising events to show how books are created. This is our daily commitment as publishers. Our books are printed by a French printer on certified paper from sustainably managed forests.
