Joonas Sildre (1980) graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in graphic design and works as a freelance artist. Sildre has illustrated close to 30 children’s books and has worked as an editorial illustrator. Sildre teaches comic drawing and illustration in workshops and art schools, has compiled anthologies, and organized Estonian comics exhibitions. In 2013, he became a co-founder of the Estonian Comics Society. He is the co-author with his wife of children's comics, co-author of a book about the Ukraine war, and the author of two graphic biographies of Estonian artists. The graphic novel about Arvo Pärt has been translated into several languages and has received multiple nominations and awards. Graphic novels: 2018 Between Two Sounds.
