Read about her favourite book to film and how she likes to read.
What are you reading at the minute?
Tales from Moominvalley for bedtime reading, an academic research report about picture books in Taiwan and the popular food writing book from recent years by Hung Ai-Chu called A Girl Can Cook.
What was your first job in the book world?
Lugging my father’s suitcase and sitting in at book fair meetings as a teenager. I did not get paid but it clearly left an impression on me!
Is your reading preference for physical books, audio, ebooks, and why?
It’s great to read physical books to not be distracted. Picture books have a different impact as a physical book. Though I also read ebooks for the convenience and the accessibility to research. Audio books are great when moving around the world, and also when I do housework.
What is your favourite Italian food?
Panna cotta and Gelato ice-cream
What is your favourite film based on a book?
A Face in the Crowd directed by Elia Kazan. This old film is oddly relevant today with regards to its commentary on celebrity culture and the power of media.
What one thing would make your job significantly easier?
In-person meetings helps significantly in building relationships and developing trust.
