The exhibition "Artists and Masterpieces of Illustration - 50 Illustrators Exhibitions 1967 -2016" is for the first time in Brazil (9 July - 14 October 2018), on show at the prestigious Sesc Bom Retiro in São Paulo, thanks to our friends of Revista Emília.
"A Ilustração como porta para o mundo" (Illustration as a gateway to the world) is the title of the exhibition, enriched for the occasion by a selection of works from five Brazilian artists who represent the main trends of national illustration: Daniel Bueno, Fernando Vilela, Mariana Zanetti, Marilda Castanha, Odilon Moraes.
This parallel exhibition is a small but significant selection of the Brazilian illustration of the last decades, underlining the diversity of styles and visual narratives that have marked the main trends of Brazilian illustration on a national and international level.
A number of workshops for young people and professional meetings are organized around the exhibition, such as “The illustration in Brazil today", which took place on July 12th.
The exhibition, which includes the original tables of 50 illustrators among the most important in the world, has already achieved great success, having recorded in just a few weeks more than 5000 visitors, including 1170 students.
Other stages of the exhibition are scheduled in Brazil.
