The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is delighted to be attending the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival with a delegation of IBBY Italia, invited by UAEBBY, the local branch in the United Arad Emirates of IBBY. The event, organised by the Sharjah Book Authority under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, is taking place from 18 to April 28.
IBBY Italia is represented by Marcella Terrusi, researcher of the Department for Life Quality Studies of the University of Bologna, with the writer, translator and journalist Beatrice Masini and Andrea Antinori, one of the illustrators selected for the 2017 Illustrators Exhibition and published by the Italian publisher Corraini Edizioni. Elena Pasoli, Exhibition Manager of BCBF, and Grazia Gotti from Accademia Drosselmeier will attend the Festival, too.
The schedule is very busy for our delegation, filled with illustration workshops and labs by Andrea Antinori and reading with Beatrice Masini. Elena Pasoli will take part in the conference ‘Children’s Book Culture in Italy’, Marcella Terrusi will give a lecture on silent books at the Sharjah University and Grazia Gotti will meet the Arab writer Alia Al Shamsin.
