Ilaria Martino is awarded the Carla Poesio Prize

As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting publishing excellence, the Bologna Children’s Book Fair is now focusing on the world of research by establishing this permanent award, in partnership with the Research Centre on Children’s Literature of the Bologna University.

The prize, currently awarded for postgraduate works in Italian Universities only, pays tribute to the Italian literary critic Carla Poesio, her fundamental contribution to the world of children’s literature and her unique role in the birth and development of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The first edition of the prize has already proved a great success, with 33 research papers from Universities throughout Italy, revealing the many different fields of investigation in children’s literature.

The winner is Ilaria Martino (University of Genoa) with the work “Il romanzo distopico alla Scuola Primaria: utopia o realtà?” (The Dystopian Novel in the Primary School: Utopia or Reality?) whose publication from a specialized publisher will be supported by BolognaFiere.

To the Prize and the award-winning work of the first edition, BCBF dedicates a special meeting (3 April, 10 AM, Sala Bolero)

with the participation of the winner together with the expert committee.
