The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is ready for the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is ready for the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino (May 18 – 22), presenting a great programme of events and initiatives addressed to children of all of ages, and that will take place at the Bookstock Village (Hall 5).

Thanks to the two-year project “Children’s Books on Art”, realised in partnership with the Bologna’s Cooperativa Culturale Giannino Stoppani, it’ll be possible to visit the exhibition “Al Museo con Mary, Frida, Sonia, Louise, Georgia e Peggy”, focused on female figures in art portrayed by amazing international female illustrators.

On Thursday May 18, the winners of the second edition of the Premio Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi will present their wonderful books: David Cirici, writer of “Muschio” (Il Castoro) will start at 12.30pm, at the presence of Valeria Fedeli, Francesco Ferrucci, Romano Montroni, Giovanni Solimine, Franco Boni, and moderated by Eros Miari; then, at 1.30pm, Luigi Garlando will talk about his “L’estate che conobbi il Che” (Rizzoli), moderated by Fabio Geda.

On Friday May 19, at 3pm, Elena Pasoli, Exhibition Manager of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, and Grazia Gotti, professor at Accademia Drosselmeier, will take part to the event “GasTronOmica – Parlare e leggere di cibo”, promoted by Slow Food (Hall 1). They will discuss important topics such as food education in children’s publishing, what’s new about it and what we’d expect to do for the future.

On Sunday May 21, at 5.30pm, Grazia Gotti will meet the illustrators Emma Lewis, Gabi Swiatkowska and Fatinha Ramos for the event “Educare alla lettura”, that will focus on children’s books on art and artists.

Do not miss, at last, the interactive exhibition “La regola e il gioco”, realised by Bologna’s Associazione culturale Hamelin in cooperation with Transbook.
