The Illustrators’ Exhibition, which has been curated by the Children’s Book Fair since 1967 offering to the public a unique opportunity to discover the creativity of artists from all over the world, will be showcased from October 26th in the European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017, Denmark, in the framework of the International Children's Literature Hay Festival.
Presented first in Bologna during the leading publishing event in the year's calendar built around kids and young people’s traditional and digital contents today, the 2017 Illustrators Exhibition gathers the artwork of 75 illustrators judged by an international panel of experts and after the Fair, the Exhibition undertakes a long tour in several Japanese art museums (in co-operation with JBBY), in several museums and libraries in China and Taiwan, and sections of the Exhibition is showcased in reproduction in several countries, in many other international occasions, such as fairs and the festivals.
The Hay Festival in Aarhus represents a great opportunity of visibility for the artists of the Exhibition in Northern Europe. The Festival is an international celebration of children’s literature and Illustration. Held at DOKK1 Library festival events will include a range of ‘in conversation’ events, debates and creative workshops.
