From May 3 the 30th Tehran International Book Fair takes place, organized by the Iranian Cultural Fairs Institute. Italy is going to be the 2017 Guest of Honour (after Oman and Russia), with the opportunity to show its creative talents and excellence in publishing.
‘Timeless Beauty’ is the main theme, and it is a trait that Italy holds in common with Iran: beauty is going to be exhibited and discussed not only through cultural happenings, but from a historical and geographical perspective too.
The Bologna Children’s Book Fair will curate the Italian excellence in illustration and children’s publishing: inside the Italian showcase hall, realised by the iranian architect Leila Araghian, the 2017 Illustrators’ Exhibition will be on show.
The theme of beauty will be told through the illustration portfolios of Andrea Antinori, Maria Chiara Aresti, Alice Coppini, Luca Di Battista, Camilla Falsini, Cecilia Ferri, Caterina Gabelli, Sara Maragotto, Monica Hernandez, Gioia Marchegiani, Elena Maricone, Simone Rea, Laura Savina, Cristina Spanò, Gaia Stella, Daniela Tieni and Arianna Vairo.
Among the selected artists are Simone Rea and Arianna Vairo, who formed part of the exhibition ‘Illustrazione per ragazzi: Eccellenze italiane’, too.
In January, Simone and Arianna were invited to Tehran to hold some workshops together with their iranian colleagues.
Among the many events linked to Italy as the Guest of Honour, you'll have the possibility to visit the exhibition ‘Illustrazione per ragazzi. Eccellenze italiane’ tour in Tehran. From May 12, the exhibition, brought to you in association with BolognaFiere - Bologna Children's Book Fair with Madrid’s Italian Culture Institute, Berlin’s italian Culture Institute, and in collaboration with the Regional Council of Emilia-Romagna, is open to public at Laleh Gallery until May 30.
