Shanghai Educational Publishing House (SEPH) was established in 1958 as the second educational publishing house after the founding of PRC. In 1999, SEPH became the founding member of Shanghai Century Publishing Group. In 2017, in line with the reorganization strategy by Shanghai Century Publishing Group,SEPH, together with other two branch companies, the Century Foreign Language Publishing Company and Century Music Education Publishing Company, came to be known as new Shanghai Educational Publishing House Ltd. Shanghai Educational Publishing House, taking "serve education, enlighten wisdom, spread culture, and publish to educate" as its mission, puts out textbooks, education and teaching readings, education and psychology theory works, linguistic and philological research works, picture books for kids, and educational journals. SEPH books have won many key book awards, such as the Best Works Award, National Book Award, Chinese Essence Books Award, Shanghai Book Award, East China Educational Book Award, and enjoys a good reputation in the professional realm as well as among a wide spectrum of readers.
