Founded in 1953, in Lisbon, Livros Horizonte is a reference in the Portuguese publishing market with an extensive catalogue of more than 1200 titles spread over dozens of collections, covering the most varied subjects, from History, Education, Lisbon studies, Architecture, Engineering, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Sports, Art, to a long list of children's titles. It is precisely in children's literature that some of our most important and award-winning books can be found, with almost 200 titles recommended by the Portuguese National Reading Plan.
The careful selection of authors, the quality of both text and illustrations and the great care in the production of our titles are principles to which we remain faithful. Our mission is to stimulate the imagination and thirst for knowledge of our readers.
