David B. is one of the founders of L’Association, the cult publishing house on the new French comics scene. An Applied Arts graduate, David B. had his first work published in several different comics magazines like À suivre, Chic, and Circus. His sketch book of dreams – or rather nightmares – published by L’Association subsequently attracted attention, his powerful dream-like images further enhanced by his masterful use of black and white. Now, after about fifteen years, David B. boasts a large body of work, including his emblematic autobiographic series L’Ascension du Haut-Mal.
In 2016, Le Pavillon Blanc art centre in Colomiers, and the Abbaye Sainte-Croix museum of Sables d’Olonne hosted his solo exhibitions. He has also exhibited in several collective shows at the Museum of American Illustration, New York, the Chicago Cultural Center, FRAC Aquitaine, CAPC, and the galérie anne barrault.
