Emma Beseghi

Emma Beseghi is Professor of Children’s Literature at the University of Bologna and was the coordinator of the PhD course in Pedagogical Sciences until 2016. She is currently the Principal Investigator of a two-year research project (2018-20) Alma Idea Grant - University of Bologna, entitled Dall’Orbis Pictus ai nuovissimi albi illustrati di divulgazione scientifica per l’infanzia. Comunicare il mondo attraverso la meraviglia e la bellezza. She was founder and head of the Center for Research in Children’s Literature (CRLI) of the Department of Educational Sciences of the University of Bologna and is a member of the scientific committee. She is author and curator of numerous publications and titles including Infanzia e racconto. Il libro le figure la voce lo sguardo, Bup 2008; La Letteratura invisibile. Infanzia e libri per bambini in collaboration with Giorgia Grilli, Carocci 2012; Lo sguardo della memoria. Rileggendo il Piccolo Principe, ETS 2014. She is the curator of the column La cattedra di Peter for the journal LiBeR which specializes in children’s literature.

Lorenzo Cantatore

Lorenzo Cantatore is a Professor of Children’s Literature at the University of Roma Tre, department of educational sciences, where he also manages the "Mauro Laeng"- School and Education Museum. He is the author and curator of books, essays and catalogues on the history of education in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, he has focused his research on different aspects: the reception of literary tradition in nineteenth-century Italian schools (Scelta, ordinata e annotata. L’antologia scolastica nel secondo Ottocento e il laboratorio Carducci-Brilli, Modena 1999); the history of school buildings (Architettura scolastiche in Roma Capitale. I nuovi edifici del Comune 1878-1912, Roma 2001); the history of sentimental education (with F. Borruso, Il primo amore. L’educazione sentimentale nelle pedagogie narrate, Milano 2012; with C. Covato and F. Borruso, L’educazione sentimentale: vita e norme nelle pedagogie narrate, Milano 2014); he has also investigated the pedagogical representation of domestic spaces in nineteenth century children’s literature (Ottocento fra casa e scuola. Luoghi, oggetti, scene della letteratura per l’infanzia, Milano 2013; Parva sed apta mihi: studi sul paesaggio domestico nella letteratura per l’infanzia del XIX secolo, Pisa 2015). In 2017 he curated the volume Primo: leggere. Per un’educazione alla lettura. He is a member of scientific committee of journals about history of education and children's literature; co-director of the series “Storia sociale dell’educazione” (Edizioni Unicopli, Milano) and “Educatori di ieri e di oggi” (Edizioni Conoscenza, Roma).

Pino Boero

Pino Boero is Professor of Children’s Literature at the University of Genova. He has focused his research mainly on the development of Italian literature between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and on Italian literature for children. He is the author and curator of books and essays; among the most significant titles: La letteratura per l’infanzia (in collaboration with Carmine De Luca, Laterza 1995 and 2009); Il cavallo a dondolo e l’infinito. Temi e autori di letteratura per l’infanzia (Interlinea, 2014). He collaborates with the journals Andersen and LiBeR.
