PUBLISHING ACTIVITY

Martis Publishing was founded in 2014 by visual artist Yannis Ganas and dramaturge Anna Papafigou. Yannis and Anna, childhood friends and avid readers, came up with the idea to start a publishing house focusing on children’s literature when they became parents. Since then, the two have plunged deep into reading children’s tales, searching for stories that respect young readers, always keeping in mind that children deserve love, honesty and care. Martis aspires to offer an eclectic selection of titles that inspire children and trigger their imagination; that’s the idea behind its catalogue, which has introduced several acclaimed and award-winning authors and illustrators to young Greek readers Since 2019 Martis is a member of the Dpictus platform and part of the jury for the Unpublished Picturebook Showcase.
