After Bologna, the Exhibition The Children Spectators moves to Poland.

The exhibition will be held in Poznań from 3 – 7 July 2019 as part of the Polish Sztuka Szczka Malucha International Arts Festival for young children. It is an extraordinary opportunity to discover the 31 illustrators selected from the 418 entries from 45 countries by the jury comprising Ivan Canu (Mimaster, Milan), Mauro Evangelista (Ars in Fabula, Macerata), Giorgia Grilli (Bologna University) and Roberto Frabetti (La Baracca - Testoni Ragazzi) for the first edition of the international competition “The Children Spectators”.

Young and old will delight at the illustrations of the worlds and atmospheres conjured up by theatre, dance, music, circus and other performative arts that create a relationship with young children from 0 to 6, as portrayed by the artists who interpreted the theme of the competition organized by Bologna Children’s Fair in conjunction with “Mapping - A map on the aesthetics of performing arts for early years”, the 4-year artistic research project financed by the European Union and involving 18 partners from 17 countries.

The exhibition was previously on show at Bologna’s Testoni Ragazzi Theatre from 22 February to 4 April during the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

In order to create interaction between the performative arts and the word of illustration and literature for early childhood, Bologna Children’s Book Fair will be proposing a second edition of the competition within the framework of the project starting next September.
