Bologna Children's Book Fair and Reggio Children are pleased to announce a new collaboration, based on innovation and research in the field of education.
Reggio Children – International Centre for the Defense and Promotion of the Rights and Potentials of all Children – is a mixed public-private company with the aim to develop and coordinate the educational and cultural exchange initiatives that had been taking place for many years between children's institutions in the Municipality of Reggio Emilia and numerous teachers, researchers and scholars from all over the world. The Centre is responsible for experimenting and promoting an original and high-quality pedagogy, through exhibitions, workshops, research, training and consulting projects. The Reggio Emilia Approach – the pedagogical philosophy of the municipal Infant-toddler Centres and Preschools of Reggio Emilia – today represents an important national and international reference in the world of education.
The collaboration between BCBF and Reggio Children will come through different initiatives:
REGGIO CHILDREN PUBLISHER AT NEW ENTRY LOUNGE 2018
Reggio Children is also an original publishing house that publishes the projects resulting from educational research and catalogues of the exhibitions. Reggio Children Publisher will be present in the New Entry Lounge of Bologna Children's Book Fair 2018 with its titles, many of which are already published in different countries, which bear the pedagogical sign that has made this institution a model of excellence known worldwide.
SEMINAR "THE 100 LANGUAGES OF CHILDREN "
During the 2018 Bologna Children's Book Fair, Reggio Children will organize a meeting on the theme "The 100 languages of children” an open dialogue on the learning strategies of today's children, on expressive languages and on narrative. For this event the project of the exhibition "Bordercrossings Encounters with living things/ Digital landscapes", will be presented. The exhibition is a project by Infant-toddler Centres and Preschools – Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia with Reggio Children.
OPEN DAY AT THE LORIS MALAGUZZI INTERNATIONAL CENTRE IN REGGIO EMILIA
As part of the new collaboration between the Bologna Children's Book Fair and Reggio Children, BCBF publishers and operators will be offered the opportunity to visit the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre in Reggio Emilia, a place dedicated to the meeting of those in Italy and around the world who want to innovate education and culture.
The Centre is now a large space with exhibitions, ateliers, books and food shop, cafeterias and restaurants, various spaces for seminars and large conferences, and it also houses the Reggio Children's headquarters, the Documentation and Educational Research Centre, the Reggio Children - Loris Malaguzzi Centre Foundation and finally a municipal preschool that is carrying out an experimentation of educational and didactic continuity with a state primary school.
The day of visit organized for the world of children's publishing will open with a Seminar that will illustrate the salient points of Reggio's pedagogical philosophy; various workshops will follow in the Ateliers and, at the end of the visit, a guide to the exhibitions and the various installations in the spaces of the International Centre.
