The children’s rhyme about the coronavirus Is There Something in the Air? (Che cos’è che in aria vola?), written by Roberto Piumini, one of Italy’s most beloved children’s authors, has been translated into Georgian by Nunu Geladze (TIAMTA Translators’ and Interpreters’ Association of Georgia).
Born in Georgia, graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili State University of Tbilisi. In 2006 she won the International Woman of the Year Award "for honoring Italian culture in the world and for her laudable and tireless commitment to the educational and social fields, aimed at keeping alive the relationship of friendship and brotherhood among people". In 2013 she received the title of Peace Ambassador from the Universum Academy and Switzerland University of Peace. In 2019 she was awarded a Dante Alighieri Medal in Rome for meritorious translation of Italian literature. In 2020 in Orta San Giulio she was awarded the Poetry on the Lake Award for the meritorious translation of Georgian literature. She has translated Italian poetry, fiction and essays into Georgian, and Georgian poetry, fiction and essays into Italian.
