SDG Book Club: the 7th goal books

Since march 2019, Bologna Children’s Book Fair is partner of he Sustainable Development Goals Book Club.

The project, still underway and designed to be multilingual, is inspired by the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: every month, for 17 months, a list of books for children and will be published with the aim to deepen one of the 17 sustainable development goal (see the complete list).

The first selection of books, on the theme of ‘No Poverty’, was presented on Tuesday 2 april 2019, during the 56th edition of BCBF, on the occasion of the International Children's Book Day.

BCBF is not alone in its new adventure: great international publishers, bookstores and libraries, authors of children's books, as well as the participation of organisations such as the International Publishers Association (IPA), the International Federation of Librarian Associations (IFLA), the European & International Booksellers Federation (EIBF), the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) will all join this initiative.

The seventh goal is Affordable and Clean Energy, as key to nearly every major challenge and opportunity: “be it for jobs, security, climate change, food production or increasing incomes, access to energy for all is essential. Working towards this goal is especially important as it interlinks with other Sustainable Development Goals”.
