IBBY - International Board on Books for Young People, on the occasion of the meeting of its American section (USBBY), has launched an online auction to support the "IBBY / REFORMA children in crisis" project.
Recipients of this initiative are the children of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. The proceeds will go towards helping the children who are arriving in the USA from their homes in Central America to find themselves caught in detention and not knowing if they will be deported or allowed to stay.
The auction has been made possible by the generous donation of Alfonso Ruano, who had made available his 13 original drawings made for the book "Somos como las Nubes / We Are Like the Clouds" by Jorge Argueta (published by Groundwood), the auction will close at 18.30 on 5 April 2017, on the occasion of the 54th edition of the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
