The Illustrators Survival Corner in Moscow

For the second time MIBF shall host a special edition of The Illustrator's Survival Corner, a three-day educational marathon created in partnership with Bologna Children's Book Fair and Mimaster Illustrazione (Milan). For years it has been a core event of the Bologna Children's Book Fair and one of the leading educational projects in the illustrator's world.

The Illustrators Survival Corner is a reference point for illustrators, where artists – young emerging talent especially – can share experiences and concerns of the profession with a whole range of international experts and find the tools they need to launch and enhance their career.

A rich programme of workshops, portfolio reviews, masterclasses and meetings held by internationally renowned artists. Also online. This year all events of The Illustrator's Survival Corner will be held online, which will allow young professionals from around the globe, wherever they physically are, to meet Russian and international experts working at the front lines of children's publishing. The focus this year will be on creative and practical aspects of illustrated non-fiction and graphic novel; three-days online programme of workshops, portfolio reviews, masterclasses and meetings held by internationally renowned professionals.

Mimaster Illustrazione is an international training institution for illustrators based in Milan, Italy. Its educational path cultivates creativity through workshops and masterclasses with leading international authors and publishers and provides an inspiring illustrator with the operational tools of the profession. During the program Mimaster organizes Publications Contests in collaboration with international publishers such as: The New York Times, Süddeutsche Zeitung, il Sole24Ore, La Repubblica, Liber, Salani, DeAgostini Scuola, Feltrinelli, Mondadori, Penguin Books, L’Espresso and others.
