The Author Ambassador initiative celebrates one international author annually.
Tom Benjamin is the 2025 title holder.

Tom is the author of the critically acclaimed Bologna-set Daniel Leicester mysteries. Praised across the UK press, The Times applauded his vivid sense of place while The Daily Mail declared him in "the first division of crime writers". US Publishers Weekly awarded a coveted starred review for his "outstanding" The Hunting Season, and fellow authors, from Harriet Tyce to Camilla Trinchieri have congratulated him for "bringing Bologna to life". With his sixth novel, The Bologna Vendetta (Constable/ Hachette) out this spring and another in the pipeline, Tom continues to share his fascination with the city he has made home to an enthusiastic and growing readership, which has been known to seek out locations mentioned in his stories and even request selfies if they happen to stumble across the author, usually encumbered by shopping bags or walking the dog.
