The celebration for the 2021 BOP – Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the Year is a key part of the BCBF Online Special Edition. The BOP Prize is awarded each year to showcase editorial projects, professional skills and intellectual qualities of work from publishing houses all over the world. Let’s meet La Joie de Lire, winner for Europe!

La Joie de Lire

For more than 30 years, Editions La Joie de lire has been working to promote children's literature.

Our editorial mission is to stimulate curiosity, to show the many possibilities of art and to educate taste from a very young age while transmitting a literary and artistic heritage.

Our catalogue consists of approximately 700 titles for all ages, from children to young adults.

Our cultural values are: high editorial standards, creativity, know-how, the search for new talent and independence of spirit.

We consider the book as a space of freedom, as a proposal that does not provide answers, without a pedagogical function but with educational value.

This is why we seek to publish works that question the world and challenge prejudices.
