The celebration for the 2021 BOP – Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the Year is a key part of the BCBF Online Special Edition. The BOP Prize is awarded each year to showcase editorial projects, professional skills and intellectual qualities of work from publishing houses all over the world. Let’s meet La Courte Échelle, nominee for North America! 

La Courte Échelle

Created in 1978, La Courte Echelle is the first publishing house in Quebec specializing in literature for young readers. Its catalogue, rich in over 700 titles, appeals to all age groups: picture books for the very young, books for beginning readers, documentaries and novels for children and teens. For more than 40 years now, the company has developed a faithful readership, which is constantly renewed from generation to generation.
