The Fourth Edition of the Strega Prize Ragazze e Ragazzi (2019)

Luca Doninelli and Guido Sgardoli are the winners of the fourth edition of the Premio Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi.

Luca Doninelli with Tre casi per l’investigatore Wickson Alieni (Bompiani) for the +6 cathegroy (6 to 10 years age readers), with 16 votes (over 40 expressed) and Guido Sgardoli with The Stone. La settima pietra (Piemme) for the +11 cathegory (11 to 15 years age readers), with 150 votes (over 474), were voted by a jury composed by 6 to 15 years old readers.

A special award for Anna Becchi too, for the translation of the finalist book Come ho scritto un libro per caso - Hoe ik per ongeluk een boek by Annet Huizing (La Nuova Frontiera Junior).

The Expert Committee of this edition of the Strega Prize Ragazze e Ragazzi was chaired by Giovanni Solimine (Bellonci Foundation) and comprises Flavia Cristiano (Italian Centre for Books and Reading), Fabio Geda (writer) Nicoletta Gramantieri (Salaborsa Ragazzi Public Library, Bologna), Laura Giaretta (Primary School Marco Polo, Rosà), Martino Negri (University of Milano-Bicocca), Elena Pasoli (Bologna Children’s Book Fair) and Paola Saoncella (Biblion Bookshop, Granarolo).
