2020 Rules of Entry

1- PURPOSE OF THE GRANT AWARD

The "ARS IN FABULA grant award" is an initiative, organized by ARS IN FABULA - Scuola di Illustrazione in conjunction with Bologna Children’s Book Fair (hereinafter “the Initiative”), as part of the activities of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair’s "Illustrator’s Exhibition", organized by BolognaFiere from 30 March to 2 April 2020 at the Bologna fairground.

 

2 - ELIGIBILITY

Candidates eligible for participation shall be illustrators fulfilling the criteria specified under article 3) below who have already been selected for the Illustrators Exhibition at the current edition of Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

 

3 – ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for the Grant Award must fulfil the following requirements:

1) be under 30 years of age on the date of selection;

2) never have published their work.

 

4 – GRANT AWARD

The winner shall be offered the opportunity to attend free of charge the ARS IN FABULA – First level Master Degree Course in Illustration for Publishing 2020-2021. The grant shall include the registration fee of 4,000.00 euro and the cost of accommodation in Macerata, at exclusive charge of ARS IN FABULA, during frontal lectures (first and second Master modules).

 

5 - JURY AND GRANT AWARD

The jury for the ARS IN FABULA Grant Award, composed of Master course lecturers, shall draw up a list of 3 illustrators selected at the Illustrators Exhibition and fulfilling the Grant Award entry requirements. The illustrator receiving the most votes shall be the winner and his/her name will be subsequently announced on the Children’s Book Fair website. Should the winner be unable to take up the prize the jury shall reassign the award to the illustrator in second place.

 

6 – CANCELLATION AND CHANGES TO THE INITIATIVE

BolognaFiere shall be entitled to cancel the Initiative at its sole discretion without any compensation being due to participants by BolognaFiere.

 

7 – PRIVACY PROTECTION

 BolognaFiere undertakes to process the personal data of the Award participants in compliance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679, as well as with the guidelines and requirements laid down by the Data Protection Supervisory Authority and any other applicable regulation.

8 – NATURE OF THE INITIATIVE

The Initiative governed by these regulations qualifies for the exemption specified under art. 6 of Italian presidential Decree no. 430 dated 26th October 2001.

 

9 – ITALIAN JURISDICTION AND COMPETENT COURT

Relations between participants in this Initiative and BolognaFiere shall be governed by Italian law. All disputes shall be subject to Italian jurisdiction and the sole powers of Bologna Court.

 

10 – FINAL PROVISIONS

Participation in the Initiative and use of the award shall be entirely free of charge and entail no constraints or commitment of any kind other than the requirements set out in these rules of entry.
